Job Overview

Cloud 9 Brewery in Boise's historic and beautiful North End is the only certified organic brewery in the State of Idaho. As we enter our third year of operations, demand has increased dramatically, thus we're opening this Technical Brewer position. The Technical Brewer at Cloud 9 Brewery is the primary brewer on site, and will be groomed for the head brewer position at our eventual distribution expansion.

The Technical Brewer position has enormous responsibility and breadth of work. Quality, consistency and cleanliness are requisite. Extensive brewing knowledge and the ability to clearly communicate to technical and non-technical staff are critical components of this position. A positive attitude and willingness to perform duties beyond those of an assistant brewer are key to a successful applicant.

Given the size of our 4 barrel system, everything we produce is consumed on site. The brewery itself is glass-walled and visible/audible from the dining and bar areas. In the operation of our showpiece brewery the Technical Brewer is at the center of daily operations at the pub. Professional decorum must be maintained on and offsite, as the Technical Brewer represents Cloud 9 Brewery in numerous roles.

Our staff size has grown to 20 employees over the past 3 years, and we offer healthcare at 3 months and a 5% 401(k) after one year that doesn't require employee matching. The Technical Brewer is a salaried position.
